Jonas Gerigk
Jonas Gerigk ist Kontrabassist und Komponist im Spannungsfeld von Jazz, Freier Improvisation und Zeitgenössischer Musik. Er studierte Jazz-Kontrabass an den Musikhochschulen in Dresden, Oslo und Köln.
Neben der Arbeit als gefragter Sideman entwickelt er eigenen Projekte wie Okoton, Skulski I Gerigk I Roth und Stethoskop.
Bei seinem Soloprojekt liegt der Fokus auf der Erweiterung des Kontrabass-Klangspektrums über bekannte Hörgewohnheiten hinweg sowie das Einflechten dieser erweiterten Spielarten in einen situativen Kontext.
In Dresden organisierte er die Reihe „HEIMklang“ im freien Radio „coloRadio“, in der freie Improvisationen von wechselnder Besetzung live ausgestrahlt werden. Seit September 2019 wird diese Reihe von der Flötistin Conni Trieder und ihm unter dem Namen „SnapShot“ im Kölner Internetradio „674FM“ weitergeführt.
Er ist seit 2019 aktives Mitglied des Kollektivs „IMPAKT – Improvisation und Aktuelle Musik Köln“.
Jonas Gerigk plays the double-bass and works in the field of jazz, free improvisation and contemporary music. He studied jazz double-bass at the Academies of music in Dresden, Oslo and Cologne.
Besides being a demanded sideman he’s developing his own projects like Okoton, Skulski I Gerigk I Roth and Stethoskop.
In his solo project he is exploring and pushing the limits of the natural acoustics of his instrument by using extended technics as well as bringing it into a context.
In Dresden he organized the radio broadcast “HEIMklang” to send free improvisations of changing groups live in the studio of the radio station “coloRadio”. Together with flutist Conni Trieder he’s continuing doing the same broadcast called “SnapShot” in the radio station “674FM” in Cologne.
From 2019 he’s an active member of the collective “IMPAKT - Improvisation and contemporary music Cologne”.
