Nicola L. Hein
Nicola L. Hein (*1988) ist Gitarrist, Klangkünstler, Komponist und forscht im Bereich der Ästhetik. Er spielt die Gitarre mit physischen sowie elektronischen Erweiterungen, ständig um das transzendieren existierender Klangparadigmen bemüht. Als Klangkünstler und Komponist arbeitet er mit Klanginstallationen, Instrumentenbau, konzeptuellen Stücken und integriert philosophische Theorien in seine künstlerische Praxis. Inter-mediale Arbeiten mit Videokunst, Tanz, Literatur und anderen Kunstformen bilden einen weiteren Schwerpunkt.
Mit Unterstützung des Goethe Instituts und vieler weiterer Partnerinstitutionen konnte er seine Arbeiten in mehr als 30 Ländern weltweit realisieren. Zusammenarbeit mit vielen der bedeutendsten Musiker*innen im Bereich der Improvisierten Musik. Er forscht auf dem Gebiet der Ästhetik, hält Vorträge an verschiedenen Institutionen auf der ganzen Welt und war auf Einladung von Prof. George E. Lewis "visiting scholar“ an der Columbia University in New York.
Nicola L. Hein (*1988) is a guitarist, sound artist, composer and researcher in the field of aesthetics. He plays the guitar with physical and electronic extensions, constantly pushing to transcend existing sonic paradigms. As a sound artist and composer, he works with sound installations, instrument building, conceptual composition and integrates philosophical theories into his artistic practice. Inter-media works with video art, dance, literature and other art forms constitute another focus of his practice.
With the support of the Goethe Institute and many other institutions, his artworks have been realized in more than 30 countries worldwide. He worked with many of the world's most established musicians in the field of improvised music. Furthermore, he works as a researcher in the field of aesthetics, gives lectures at different institutions around the world and, following an invitation of Prof. George E. Lewis, has been a "visiting scholar" at the music department of Columbia University in New York.
